I sent this reply to the list but it didn't go through so here it is again. I bought a second needle head for my embellisher so that I can quickly and easily put in different size needles or fewer than 12 needles. If you look at the photo called Provincetown in "Album by Linda Hall", you will see where I used different sizes and numbers of needles. To get the straight lines of the house and thin slats in the fence I used only 3 size 40 needles in a line on the left side of the needle head. For the dahlia bushes on the left, I used size 42 needles in the alternate head so I wouldn't overwork the blossoms and smash them with the regular head. I use size 42 needles when I want to do delicate work and fewer needles when I want crisp lines, like when using yarn. I hope this helps,
Linda Hall
