[machine_needle_felting] Silk Scarves

 

I am curious as to how the silk stays together without peeling off in fibers, especially around the neck area or wherever it gets rubbed with wear? If there are no barbs, how does it stay together? Do the fibers entwine in the lace support fabric? Is it thin and strong or can it develop holes after while? I have been wanting to make scarves but resisted because I didn't understand how silk would work. Thanks for sharing, they scarves are just gorgeous.
