Yes I would really like to know too-I am trying to get a “nuno” looking scarf by using my embellisher. SO far its been mixed. But, I actually use reclaimed wool, break it down to the fibers and then use for my felting, so there is always variables to consider. I try never to buy what I can find or repurpose from things others throw away. I also would like to discover a technique that resembles a nuno like bunchy look by just using reclaimed fabrics and an embellisher-I think my missing link is the base fabric, I’d like to try prefelts, but again, not reclaimed, so I’d rather not.
Something along these lines- ( I love these looks)

Any ideas? Says on the site no glues or sewing is used to bind the fabrics, so, I am now thinking needle felting. But what base fabric do they use to keep it “together”? I’ve even researched the machines used to make the synthetic felts-basically just needles that entangle the threads together, not unlike the embellisher, but on a much grander and more “tangle-y” scale – the industrial felting machines are very very cool.
Hmm....

Thanks Denise. I was thinking of using silk roving on a silk chiffon scarf. Would the scarf be the "carrier?" I have seen them at craft shows, but they will not reveal how they did it.
