partners understand and agree to the conditions of the other, members
should accomplish the following:
1. All offers for trade must be posted PUBLICLY IN OPEN
FORUM,and all REPLIES TO ANY OFFERS POSTED IN THE GROUP, MUST BE
POSTED PUBLICLY IN OPEN FORUM. Private messaging to set up any trades
is forbidden in this group. We do everything publicly until addresses
are exchanged, which should then be done privately. Members who continue
to set up trades privately are acting in violation of our POLICIES &
PROCEDURES, and shall be banned from the group.
2. After a final agreement has been reached between both trading
partners as to who will send what, the final terms of the trade should
be posted by one or both traders in the Group, to stand as a record as
to what was agreed upon.
3. The final terms of trade between both trading partners
should indicate WHO will send what, WHEN they will send it, and
HOW they will send their trade (by priority mail, flat rate
priority, lst class, etc).
4. Once the trade has been sent, each trader should post
in the group that they have sent their trade to their trading
partner.
5. When each of the trading partners has received
his/her trade, that person should post in the Group.
6. When both trading partners have fulfilled their
obligations to the other (having both received their trades
as agreed upon), both should nominate the other, so that
the completed trade may be recorded in the Group's record
of Nominations file.
7. We especially request that new members of the group
refer to the Great Trader List when seeking out trades,
until they have established themselves as Great Traders,
(after 5 successfully completed trades). The reason for
this is that newbies trading with newbies are two people
who essentially have NO track record of trading in the
group, yet. We have had instances of new people coming
into the group to set up trades with other new people,
and then unsubscribing, leaving several people hanging,
with their end of the trade having been sent, but not
receiving theirs. If you are new, and trade with someone
who is already listed on the Great Trader List, your
chances of this occurring are minimal, as those whose names
are listed on the Great Trader List have worked hard to
establish themselves as fair and honest traders in the group,
and it is highly unlikely that they would want to jeopardize
thair standing by cheating a new person out of their trade.
The bottom line is, if you are a newbie, ALWAYS protect
yourself by trading with someone in the group who has a
track record....those people's names are listed on the
Great Trader List.
8. Newbies should especially beware of lurking members
who seek out trades from them by emailing to them privately
requesting a trade. If someone emails you privately asking
you to trade with them, ask them to post their request
OPENLY in forum, as that is our policy to protect all traders
from being scammed by those who try to hide their cycle of
cheating others out of a trade by working secretly "behind-
the-scenes" emailing privately. If the person is honest,
they should not have any problems posting publicly in the
group where everyone can see the activities of the other.
Also posting in the group PUBLICLY is required because it
stands as an archival record of who said what, who offered
what, and who agreed to what in a trade.
Scammers like to work secretively by emailing privately
because they can continue cheating others easily when no one
is aware of what they are doing.
The above measures are offered as a means to protect
traders from unscrupulous traders who will often email
honest traders in private to establish a trade.
Members who trade may continue to email in private
if they both feel comfortable doing this, but they
should then realize that there is no public record that
will be established which would protect their terms of
the trade should a question arise in the future which
might lead to a dispute between traders as to when a
trade had been mailed, or whether or not a promised
trade had been fulfilled.
Because the posting of terms of a trade between two
trading partners stand as a record in the group's
archives, the deleting of any posts by any member
of the group (other than the Owner/Moderators),
shall be grounds for being banned from the
group. In the event that personal information
was inadvertently posted to the group, the sender
should immediately contact one of the
Owner/Moderators to delete such information.
MEMBERS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DELETE POSTINGS AT ANY TIME.
SUCH ACTION WILL WARRANT BEING BANNED FROM THIS GROUP.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT MESSAGE DELIVERY OF POSTS TO YOUR
EMAIL ACCOUNT:
Once trading begins, you may find it hard to stay on
top of things as messages and posts fly back and forth
quickly. IMPORTANT: Members who are actively trading
NEED to, at the very least be on Daily Digest,OR Individual
Email, and they NEED TO READ the posts daily to stay on top
of their trades in order not to fall into problems in the
Group.
Please note that members who continually violate and/or ignore
the Group's POLICIES & PROCEDURES will be placed on No Post
status or removed from this group, until such time that we
feel they are ready to proceed in compliance with our policies.
CONSEQUENCES OF UNCOMPLETED TRADES:
Be aware that many traders in here have been trading for a long
time and openly discuss good and bad trading experiences they
have had with others, both privately, as well as openly in the
group when it is called for. It is to your benefit to start off
on the right foot by being a fair and honest trader because once
you establish yourself as a dishonest trader (and it only takes a
few times of ripping people off before word gets around), it is
extremely hard to recover your image as a decent trader, and it
won't be long before people in the group will be come leery of
trading with you. Good traders are rewarded by having many friends
and others to trade with as people are eager to trade with good
traders. Bad and/or dishonest traders will find that their
reputation will follow them around to several other gardening
groups, as many of us also belong to other similar groups, and
word travels fast.
Bad traders may also want to be aware of Mail Fraud Charges
which can be filed against them. Here is a link explaining what
that is:
https://postalinspectors.uspis.gov/forms/MailFraudComplaint.aspx
Traders who have exhausted all means and who have followed
procedures indicated above, may wish to print out the USPS form
to file MAIL FRAUD charges against someone who has received
monies for plants, but who neglected to send what was promised.
The link to print out the MAIL FRAUD FORM is located here:
