Re: [Native Gardening] What is this? in Wisconsin :)

April was correct in her ID and this is quite common in containers filled with potting soil that are kept well watered....they rarely if ever survive in any other growing media

We abuse the land because we regard it as a commodity belonging to us. When we see land as a community to which we belong, we may begin to use it with love and respect.

dearest,

Dearest,

I know this mail will come to you as a surprise since we haven't known or come across each other before considering the fact that I sourced your email contact through the Internet in search of trusted person who can assist me.

I am Miss Tessy Warlord Ibrahim Coulibal 24 years old female from the Republic of Ivory Coast,West Africa ,am the Daughter of Late Chief Sgt.Warlord Ibrahim Coulibal (a.k.a General IB ). My late father was a well known Ivory Coast militia leader . He died on Thursday 28 April 2011 following a fight with the Republican Forces of Ivory Coast(FRCI). You can read more about my father in the link below. http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2011/apr/28/ivory-coast-renegade-warlord-ibrahim-coulibaly

I am constrained to contact you because of the maltreatment which I am receiving from my step mother. She planned to take away all my late father's treasury and properties from me since the unexpected death of my beloved Father. Meanwhile I wanted to travel to Europe, but she hide away my international passport and other valuable documents. Luckily she did not discover where I kept my father's File which contained important documents. Now I am presently staying in the Mission in Burkina Faso. I am seeking for long term relationship and investment assistance. My father of blessed memory deposited the sum of US$ 7.5 Million in one bank in Burkina Faso with my name as the next of kin. I had contacted the Bank to clear the deposit but the Branch Manager told me that being a refugee, my status according to the local law does not authorize me to carry out the operation. However, he advised me to provide a trustee who will stand on my behalf. I had wanted to inform my stepmother about this deposit but I am afraid that she will not offer me anything after the release of the money.

Therefore, I decide to seek for your help in transferring the money into your bank account while I will relocate to your country and settle down with you. As you indicated your interest to help me I will give you the account number and the contact of the bank where my late beloved father deposited the money with my name as the next of kin. It is my intention to compensate you with 20% of the total money for your assistance and the balance shall be my investment in any profitable venture which you will recommend to me as have no any idea about foreign investment. Please all communications should be through this email address for confidential purposes.

Thanking you a lot in anticipation of your quick response. I will give you details in my next mail after receiving your acceptance mail to help me.

Yours sincerely
Miss Tessy Warlord Ibrahim Coulibal

BURKINA FASO,
Dear friend,

RE: TRANSFER OF ($19,500.000.00 USD THIRTY NINE MILLION FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS)

We want to transfer to overseas the sum of ($19,500.000.00USD) Nineteen Million Five Hundred Thousand United States Dollars) from a Prime Bank in Africa. I would like to ask you to quietly look for a reliable and honest person who will be capable and fit to provide either an existingbank account or to set up a new Bank a/c immediately to receive this money, even an empty a/c can serve as far as it can receive money.

I am Mr.Dramane Nabaloum, an accountant and personal confidant to Dr. Ravindra F. Shah who died together with his wife Dr.Mrs. Manjula Parikh-Shah in a plane crash onthe 1st Oct. 2003 on their way to attend wedding in Boston. Mr. Ravindra F. Shah, is an American, a physician andindustrialist, he died without having any beneficiary to his assets including his account here in Burkina Faso which he opened in the year 2000 as his personal savings for the purpose of expansion and developement of his company before his untimely death in 2003.

The amount involved is (USD 19,500,000.00)Nineteen Million Five Hundred Thousand USD, no other person knows about this account. I am contacting you for us to transfer this funds to your account as the beneficiary, I want to first transfer $9,500.000.00 (Nine Million Five Hundred Thousand USD) from this money into a safe account abroad, after which we will transfer the remaining (10M)but I don't know any foreigner. I am only contacting you as a foreigner because this money can not be approved to alocal person here, without valid international foreign passport, but can only be approved to any foreigner with valid international passport or drivers license and foreign a/c because the money is in US Dollars and the former owner of the a/c Mr.Ravindra F. Shah is a foreigner too, and as such the money can only be approved into a foreign a/c.

I need your full co-operation to make this work fine because the management is ready to approve this payment to any foreigner who has correct information of this account, which I will give to you, upon your positive response and once I am convinced that you are capable and will meet up with the inheritance procedures.

At the conclusion of this business, you will be given 35% of the total amount,60% will be for me, while 5% will be for expenses both parties might have incurred during the process of transferring. You should observe utmost CONFIDENTIALITY AND SECRECY in this transaction, and rest assured that this transaction would be most profitable for both of us because I will require your assistance to invest my share in your country.

I look forward to your prompt response through this my private email; (
dramanenabaloum@gmail.com)

Sincerely,

Mr.Dramane Nabaloum.

[machine_needle_felting] Re: nuno felting

Needle felting I think is better known the craft world and wet felting in the textile world. Wet felting is the traditional way of making felt. It is the first fabric much older then weaving or knitting.  Needle felting came with the industrial revolution and then hand needle felt when someone started using the needles from the machines. If you wan to give it a try felting over a bar of soap is a nice easy one that gives you something useful. There are lots of YouTube videos on how to do it. Its nice to combine the 2 types of felting make your own felt backgrounds and then needle felt on them.

I have plans to try using the solvy with adhesive or the paper type water soluable stabilizer and wash away spray adhesive. The idea being that the fibers (wool, silk, what ever) woould stick in place. Had given some thought to toping it with silk or cotton gauze as well. Then sewing over it with silk thread. I was thinking then to do some rolling to felt the wool, melting the stabilizer.
Hoping this would shorten the amount of hand work/rolling that nuno felt takes.

I have the attatchment for the Brother 1500 but as this machine is also my main sewing machine I haven't wanted to change it over.

Sorry if you misunderstood I wasn't saying you couldn't or shouldn't use the embellisher just that you didn't have to. You can make nuno with any thickness of wool. Thin or thick depending on what you want to do with it. I have used it on thinker wall hanging to help stabilise it and stop it changing shape from its own weight.

Punkin176,

My first machine needle felting was done on polyfelt.
Did it work?...YES!
Did I break needles?...yup, but that was soley due to being an enthusiastic novice who moved the fabric too fast for my needle speed.

IMO...felt squares come in lots of (necessary) colors, punch well, and do not cause needle breakage.

FROM: MR. ABDEL

Dear friend,

I am Mr. Abdel Salem, the head of file department of Bank of Africa (B.O.A) here in Burkina Faso / Ouagadougou. In my department I discover an abandoned sum of (US$18.2M) in an account that belongs to one of our foreign customer who died along with his family in plane crash.

It is therefore upon this discovery that I now decided to make this business proposal to you and release the money to you as the next of kin or relation to the deceased for the safety and subsequent disbursement since nobody is coming for it. I agree that 40% of this money will be for you while 60% would be for me. Then after the money is been transferred into your account, i will visit your country for an investment under your kind control.

You have to contact my Bank directly as the real next of kin of this deceased account with next of kin application form which I will send to you immediately I hear from you. I am waiting for your urgent respond to enable us proceed further for the transfer.

Yours faithfully,
Mr. Abdel Salem.

Hi, you probably will still need to roll and wet felt if you want to get a true nuno look. The embellisher alone I have found does not get the nuno look I want...but may be able assist in the beginning stages. My concern is that you will not be able to get the fibers thin enough. I've tried to get a nuno on an embellisher too, but with very limited success. And I've tried lots of things...including deconstructing and "pulping" old wool sweaters to reclaim the fibers to use for felting and  (think paper making)
But, also, I say try and let us know! You may have a secret or technique I did not think of. I for one was tired of hearing, no, that can't be done, even after I did it. : )
