hi everyone.
i have a janome 725. after about 6 months i finally dusted it off and sat down to do my first experiment
the first thing i noticed was the holes are HUGE! none of the techniques i found in our files and messages made them appear smaller. finally threw the machine felted experiment in the washing machine w/hot water and olive oil shampoo, yes the holes finally disappeared but now all i have is a piece of very thick double sided FUZZ with a couple of holes that appeared after washing (but the blended colors are pretty) tried to felt fuzz flat but all it did
was make more holes!
i also noticed that although the machine has 5 needles there are tracks for only 3.. shouldnt all 5 needles leave tracks?. should i
assume its defective since the needles cant be replaced?
i would like to use thin hand dyed 100% wool prefelt as a base..if i have to change needles which size would be best for leaving smaller holes in thin prefelt?... im not sure if my experiment was wool or craft felt mix.
i dont know what size needles came in the machine and janome is closed till monday.. i dont want to waste my wool fiber (since i have a very small stash)but so disappointed i could cry :-(
thanks to all for your shoulder and help.. wishing you a blessed weekend
tonya
