I have the Pfaff needle felting machine, love it. I have only ever broke one needle and it was quite aways into my ownership of it. I have never had a class either. It is so easy to learn and there is so much information out there on it and if you just start playing, you'll find what works and what doesn't. I did take a class or two from Christopher Nejman when he was in Des Moines for the AQS quilt show and he does amazing things with the Babylock embellisher. About the only thing with more needles is you will accomplish what you are making faster. To me the Pfaff was a good price, I own all Pfaff machines except my 6 needle Babylock embroidery machine and the best part of all, my DH gave it to me for Christmas!
Where in Iowa are you from? I'm in Decorah, in the NE corner.

Have you had it long? If you don't mind my asking, how/why did you decide to buy a Viking, rather than another brand.... I do have a Viking dealer, so Viking is not out of the question.
