You know, its very sad when things like this happen on groups like ours.
In the great scheme of things, misspelt words arent much of an issue to get in tiz about are they! And its so easy to misread a comment, thinking its been written sarcastically when it probably hasnt been.
There are so many differences amongst us, speech, manerisms, cultural differences etc, yet we are all members of groups like this to share and learn....and maybe to also socialise, integrate, mix and learn from eachother? So why do we need to take pot shots at eachother or score points? When we all share the crafting gift and I assume have come together by choice? Beats me but Ive seen this occur before and think its very sad and can become unecessarily spiteful all too easily making people feel thay have to leave,as if they are an outcast. Yet they are not!
It is easy to feel knocked back if a trite comment make us feel foolish I know. But most of us will have asked daft questions or mispelt a word, or misunderstood an explantion so we are not so different to eachother really. Bable to ask things on these forums is part of the pleasure, knowing that someone will have the answer for us or that between us, we might find out whats what!
My old Yorkshire Granma used to say.........."Nobody likes a smart arse....." ( apologies if that offends !! it was a wise thing she said I believe, cos its often true!) and it always makes me think before I try to say or write something, lest I hurt someone inadvertantly.
Weve all had to start at the beginning and learn along the way and for any of us with skills, we can help others with very little effort. Very often new folks bring in new blood and fresh eyes at times, and that can give any of us, a new perspective on things we thought we knew about.
We come from all walks of life, from all over the world, some may not see anyone all day, others might grab themselves a bare 30mins a day crafting time, others might do it as their daily living, yet we have joined this/any group with the same bond of interest.
A simple comment was made and answered satisfactorily I thought ,and I hadnt noticed any one taking offence, until one comment by a lady mentioning the delete button, which I thought unecessary. But there you are, thats who we are, some smashing, some daft, some cranky etc etc ................... like in any street, in any town because we are all different.
Please dont leave, likes been said, we need the different members to make this group as interesting as it can be !
Besides future generations depend on us to keep the handmade and crafting bug going worlwide surely!
