[machine_needle_felting] Questions

 

I am making a small "Horse" blanket for a granddaughter (8 yrs old) and the fabric is a horse print.  I am using wool batting and a soft flannel backing.  I am going to do some free-motion embroidery on it, couching and maybe beading.  I am thinking of doing a couple of the manes of the horses in wool roving with the Embellisher.  Do you think this would hold up?  Should I also go over it with free-motion embroidery?  Her birthday was almost a month ago and Grandma is behind!
