I love to combine my machine embroidery with my embellisher. First. I use lightweight fabrics and punch them into duck cloth to make a background for pillows. I cut the lightweight fabric into pieces of various shapes about 1 inch in size and cover the entire piece of duck (cut the the size of the pillow or a bit larger so you can square it up) with the lightweight fabric. Then, I embroider a design on the pillow. I get rave reviews of the resulting pillows. Embroidery library (www.emblibrary.com) has some great pillow designs for not much money.
Give it a try and see if you don't love the results.
