Michele:
I have both models and I use both. The Babylock is a stronger, faster machine with a larger head using more needles. It does the work in half the time of the Janome. You can also use fewer needles in the Babylock if you want to do more detailed work. I set up the Janome next to my Babylock with 2 or 3 needles in the head for doing fine edge work, when I don't want 12 needles going along a piece of yarn or ribbon. The Janome will be cheaper but not as versatile or fast or strong as the Babylock. The Babylock is the Cadillac of felting machines and the Janome would be the Ford.
