I'm back from Mexico and just picked up the wool testing thread. A friend of mine gave me 3 large bins full of fine fabrics when her mother passed away and they were beautiful, high-end clothing fabrics. There was wool, linen, silk, and a host of other unknown fiber-type fabrics. I had to find a way to figure out what the fibers were so I could use them in my Art Quilts. The following link teaches how to test for different fiber types and blends. I labeled each of the fabrics so I would know in the future what they were. May of them surprised me as I never would have guessed what they were and many of them were pure fibers - not blends.
