i started growing plumeria in 2001. most of my plants were purchased from fcn that spring. i had over 50% of my grafts bloom that same year. very nice big inflos! i must have been doing something good that first year. haha!
i am beginning to think that my issue might be too much shade. it's hard to tell though because i do get them to bloom under the shade cloth. they just don't bloom as consistently as i'd like.
this is year zero for me! i am trying to take better notes and i have them in a mix that seems to be working. next year i will probably transplant all of them again. some of them are not in the same soil mix this year. however, they are in soil and not in pots in sand. i hope to get a handle on how to get them to bloom regularly for me.

Well I see a lot of discussion about grafts but no one has mentioned having any blossoms.

Sheree,
Do your grafteds bloom every year after the first, or do they spend the next year or two focusing on growth?

I've found that my grafted cuttings all bloom the same year if I purchased them before June. Anything purchased after that bloom the following year. As for rooted cuttings, none of mine have bloomed yet and some are over a year old. So I've found that grafted seems to be the way to go, although I do worry about if the graft ever breaks?
