Most of us have a number of cards that need a good home.
Here's a way to do that and bring a smile to someone who
needs some cheer.
Do you know someone who would appreciate finding a card in their
mailbox? It may be a friend, a relative or member of this list.
Maybe they are sick, or suffered some kind of loss. Maybe they
are just lonely or feeling discouraged.
Or maybe they've overcome a real challenge and need an "atta boy"
or "atta girl" to spur them on to even better things.
If you do, we have new program in place here to do just that.
It's a kind of "RAK", or Random Act of Kindness. Send a very
short message to the moderators _NOT TO THE LIST_ to briefly
describe the kind of card that would be most welcome, along with
the address. We will add it to a file and announce it to the
list. Our members are invited, but Not required, to send along
an appropriate card.
Please don't expect a reply from the person. So many people are
simply not able to do that for a variety of reasons. You do not
need to post that you've sent a card. This is a small, secret
thing you do just for the simple joy of helping another person
along the way.
The names will be removed from the file after a month unless
requested to let it stay longer. Or we can keep it there for
a shorter time if you think that is appropriate.
So, put aside some of those cards you've made or been asked to
re-send so they'll be ready to address to someone on the
Outreach List. No card ready to send? A short note or
store-bought card is welcome too. The whole idea is to do a small
kindness for someone.
Send your information to this address which will reach
all your moderators.
