Yeah...I've totally dumped all kinds of stuff into my compost pile. Including English Ivy...nothing has ever just taken over my compost pile. Things grow in there occassionally...but I break 'em up and/or turn the pile.
FTR-the ivy i ended up removing because the stalks were too woody. I was a newbie...and my area is still infested with ivy which i'm constantly pulling out. Although now I black bag it and just throw it away. Unfortunately.

Probably I should have asked this question earlier, but . . .As I am trying to subdue the vinca-gone-viral in my rock garden by pulling it up, is it safe to compost it? Or have I just made myself a big compost bin full of happy, healthy, vinca?Kathleen DomenigState College, PennsylvaniaUSAdaytime telephone: 1-814-234-2150
