[Native Gardening] newbie to group, question

 

Hi,
I'm trying to go native with my perennials. I get confused when I see an ad from an individual selling foxglove or other plants. (I try to buy through craigslist to save money). I'm concerned that I'm not getting a native plant but just a cultivar (is that the right word)? Is this something to be concerned about? Someone was selling loosestrife but I read that some species were highly invasive. Is there a way to confirm that I'm planting natives?
