  I like using denim and duck cloth as the base for purses and pillows.  But I make some of my items using roving.  Then I like Vilene washaway stabilizer.

 

  I like roving and yarns very much, but also use light weight fabrics like silks (chiffon to dupioni), lining fabrics in polyester and silk, wools of course, and organzas.  Part of the fun with these machines is experimenting.

 

  There are a number of good books on the market.  One of the latest ones is the Art of Machine Needle Felting.  You can buy it on my website.  There is also a lot of info on my website that is free for the looking.
