Have some questions for the group. I have maybe a 1lb bag or more of Alpaca. What is the best use with this? Does it felt well on it's own or does it need to be blended with wool? How durable would the felt be for use in a garment? Is it good for nuno felting?
I appreciate your help. I tried looking at the past messages but I didn't see anything that addressed this issue. Look forward to hearing from one of you.

Grace,
Join the Yahoo group SewItsForSale, which is a big rummage site where you can advertise all kinds of sewing things, fabrics, machines, etc. I think it's much more trustworthy than eBay, for instance. I haven't sold anything there yet but I've bought quite a few things and all the ladies have been very nice to deal with.

Try the "sewitsforsale" yahoo group. I've had excellent luck selling and buying items there and you don't have to pay anything for the privelege. Good luck and I'll be looking for your posting. Sandy
Hi Grace
I would suggest you put it on Sewitsforsale under the Yahoo groups we are in. You might have to join like you did for this group but I have purchased several things from the group members and everyone has been very open and reliable so far (knock on wood!). eBay can also be good but I would check out this group as well, I have seen several people sell their felting machines on it.

How about a nice blanket stitch in pretty yarn? Or even a binding in
the base fabric? Just some thoughts. If you line the vest, jacket,
etc., you could "bag" the lining, also, and then top stitch on the
edges. Just some quick thoughts. I am also getting ready to make a
jacket for one grandson out of felted wool and do some "little boy"
embellishing - maybe hand stitch a firetruck with redwork or something
like that... Nothing glitzy, or he might not wear it!

I have been making felted vests and jackets. I use my alpaca fiber and neighbors wool on silk base. I have tried many many ways of finishing the fronts and am not happy with them. Would love to hear from you Margo and anyone else out there making clothing. Thanks Sharlie

eBay is a good place. I have bought most of what I have for my felting on there not including my machine.
